Bill 148, the Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act, 2017, as amended by the Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs (the “Committee”), passed Second Reading on October 18, 2017. The Bill was referred back to the Committee for further review and consideration, after which it will be reported back to the House for Third Reading debate.

Bill 148 appears to be on track to receive Royal Assent before January 1, 2018, as intended by the Ontario government.
