Faraz Kourangi is a lawyer and workplace investigator at Williams HR Law LLP, where he practices management-side labour, employment and human rights law. Faraz takes a proactive, holistic and strategic approach to addressing issues in the workplace.
Faraz provides legal advice and representation to employers on a broad range of matters, including employment agreements and policies, wrongful and constructive dismissal, accommodation, performance management and discipline, occupational health and safety, privacy and workers’ compensation.
Faraz has acted on behalf of organizations across Canada in a range of industries and sectors, including construction, manufacturing, hospitality, retail, real estate, communications and information technology, healthcare and social services. He has represented clients in court and mediation, as well as in proceedings before the Ontario Labour Relations Board, Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board and professional regulatory bodies. Additionally, Faraz has written numerous articles and research papers on topical employment law and human rights issues, including a paper on the duty to accommodate test-takers in education, employment and professional licensing, which was featured at the Law Society of Ontario’s 7th Annual Human Rights Summit.
Faraz obtained his J.D. from the Queen’s University Faculty of Law. Prior to law school, he obtained a B.A. (Hons.) in Philosophy and Social and Political Thought at York University, graduating summa cum laude.
