Vanessa is an articling student at Williams HR Law, where she supports management-side clients with a range of labour, employment, and human rights matters, while also contributing to the firm’s workplace investigation and culture-review practice.
She brings several years of administrative experience, complemented by a strong interest in legal research and accessible legal education. During law school, Vanessa contributed to a research project examining institutionalized anti-Asian racism in Canada and later volunteered as a co-author of an upcoming plain-language guide to Ontario’s Employment Standards Act, where she focused on Section 14 addressing Employee Tips and Other Gratuities, aiming to make the legislation more understandable for non-legal audiences.
Vanessa recently graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School, where she focused on labour and employment law through coursework, labour arbitration moots, and related extracurriculars. She also held leadership roles in student initiatives centred on mental health and gender equity, most recently serving as Director of Communications for the Osgoode Women’s Network.
Before law school, Vanessa earned an Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences with a minor in Women’s Studies from Western University, where she served on the faculty’s student council.
In her spare time, Vanessa enjoys long-distance running, playing spikeball with friends, and steadily crossing off new travel destinations from her bucket list.
